Mori Seiki 603

I tried to hit the turret index switch with the door closed and it did nothing. I tried to run the turret interference check using the manual pulse generator with T flashing in the handle display area and no movement.

Mori Seiki 603 Operator Manual

When I first got to the machine and turned it on I wasn't able to use the mode select. I recycled power and tried after trying to manually turn the turret and the mode select worked. I also tried to manually move the X-axis and it wouldn't let me. What else do you think I should try??? Have you tried the above (linked) zero return procedure? No axis movement suggests a problem with the turret index or clamping or an incomplete index/clamp. The machine has an interlock condition that prevents any axis movement while the turret is rotating or has not completed it's index sequence.

The interlock can be disabled by changing a PMC parameter but it's generally only used for maintenance purposes. You can find those parameter numbers in your manual in the Electrical Circuit Diagrams & Ladder manual. The idea being that if the turret rotation sequence has not completed it is not safe to continue with the next operation (axis movement & cutting etc) You should have a light on the operator panel called TRCL (TuRret CLamp) Normally it should be on when the turret is clamped and working properly. Kubota workshop manual. Is it on, flashing or off?
